WASHINGTON D.C.—Dykema Gossett PLLC announced today the addition of senior counsel Eric C. Tew to the firm's Litigation department in Washington D.C. Prior to joining Dykema, Tew was senior counsel at Wallace King Domike & Reiskin, PLLC.

Tew's practice focuses on a variety of litigation matters both at the trial and appellate levels, with particular emphasis on product liability and class action defense. He has defended dozens of class actions in state and federal courts throughout the country, many of which have involved claims brought pursuant to various state consumer protection laws. Along with his experience in litigation matters involving products in the automotive, pharmaceutical, medical device and food products industries, Tew counsels clients on various product liability matters not involving litigation. Tew's arrival is evidence of Dykema's continued expansion in its product liability practice, and immediately follows the additions of national automotive litigators, Terri Reiskin, also in the firm’s Washington D.C. office, and John Thomas, resident in Dykema’s Ann Arbor office. Outside the area of product liability, Tew's practice has involved environmental contamination matters, eminent domain and condemnation proceedings, and other complex civil litigation.

Tew earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University, magna cum laude, in 1998, and his J.D. from William & Mary School of Law in 2001, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif honor society. While in law school, Tew also served on the editorial board of the William & Mary Law Review.
