Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Michael P. Adams to its Intellectual Property & Intellectual Property Litigation Group as a member in the firm’s Austin office. Adams joins Dykema after practicing in Jackson Walker L.L.P.’s Austin office.

For almost 30 years, Adams has focused his practice on patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law, with an emphasis on the procurement, due diligence, licensing and litigation of intellectual property rights. Making use of his electrical engineering degree, his practice has concentrated on intellectual property issues arising in the following industries: computer, semiconductor, electronics, software, e-commerce and internet.

Adams has participated in patent infringement trials before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern (Marshall) and Western (Austin) Districts of Texas and the Eastern District of Virginia, and appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

“Michael brings with him significant patent and trademark prosecution and IP litigation experience to add to our growing Intellectual Property & Intellectual Property Litigation Group,” said Keith Shuley, Managing Member of Dykema’s Austin Office. “We’re thrilled that he’s able to enhance our IP practice in Austin, which will be a great benefit to the firm and our clients.”

Adams, who has been recognized in The Best Lawyers and Texas Super Lawyers for the past several years, earned a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law of the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
