Marsha Gentner Joins Dykema

Intellectual Property Attorney Focuses Practice on Trademark, Copyright Law

Dykema, a leading national law firm,announced today that Marsha G. Gentner, an intellectual property attorney whose practice focuses on trademark, technology and copyright law, has joined the firm as senior counsel, resident in Dykema’s Washington, D.C. office.

Gentner has represented domestic and international clients on a broad array of intellectual property matters, concentrating her efforts on trademark counseling and worldwide portfolio management, licensing and litigation. She has litigated cases involving counterfeiting and infringement, Internet and domain name disputes, and injunctions and seizure orders, and has argued before the U.S. District Courts and Courts of Appeal as well as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Allan Sternstein, who directs Dykema’s Intellectual Property and Intellectual Property Litigation Department, says, “Marsha is an exceptional attorney with a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of trademark law. Gentner, who joins Dykema from a D.C.-based boutique law firm specializing in intellectual property law, has a B.S. summa cum laude from Indiana University, where she was a four-time recipient of the Special Achievement Award. She obtained her J.D. from Georgetown University, serving as Staff Editor of the American Criminal Law Review.

Gentner is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Trademark Mediators Network, the District of Columbia Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section and ITechLaw (the International Technology Law Association).
