DETROIT—Dykema Gossett PLLC announced that Christyn M. Scott, an Associate in the firm’s Litigation practice group in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, has been named by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of the Up & Coming Lawyers for 2011.

Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Up & Coming Lawyers celebrates the next generation of legal minds in Michigan. All 20 Up & Coming Lawyers have practiced law for 10 years or less, yet have already distinguished themselves in the practice of law, and appear poised for even greater achievements. The honorees were evaluated based on nominations by their peers, colleagues and associates. The Michigan Lawyers Weekly panel chose them for their noteworthy cases, unique practice areas, and interesting community and/or bar association efforts.

The honorees will be acknowledged at Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Up & Coming Lawyers luncheon December 8 at the Troy Marriott.  A special section will publish November 21, and will feature profiles of all 20 honorees.

Christyn has significant experience in consumer financial services litigation, and has obtained precedent-setting results in this area of the law. She has worked hard on behalf of some of the nation’s top lending institutions to make new law in the fast-changing world of litigation involving Michigan’s foreclosure laws, violations of the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Michigan Consumer Protection Act, competing title priority claims, and fraud claims arising from residential loan transactions.

Christyn earned her J.D. from Michigan State University, magna cum laude and a B.A. from Oakland University, cum laude.
