Mark van der Laan Elected to Board of Directors of Legal Aid of Western Michigan

DETROIT—Dykema Gossett PLLC is pleased to announce that Mark van der Laan, a member in the firm’s Grand Rapids, Michigan office, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Legal Aid of Western Michigan.

Legal Aid of Western Michigan provides legal assistance to low income individuals and seniors in non-criminal, non-fee generating matters. The organization currently serves people in a 17-county region in the lower western part of Michigan.

The attorneys at Legal Aid of Western Michigan provide a full range of legal assistance to eligible clients, that includes counsel and advice, representation in cases with administrative agencies and representation in Michigan courts. The program also has a long history of community partnerships that address the needs of low income individuals, the disabled and disadvantaged and those who have been subjected to domestic violence.

Mr. van der Laan's practice at Dykema concentrates on litigation and consumer financial services. He is also on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes.
