Dykema Labor & Employment Group to Present Seminar on Michigan’s Right to Work Legislation
Half-Day Session Will Provide Comprehensive Look at New Law, Explore Practical Consequences in the Workplace
The recent passage of Right to Work laws in Michigan has elevated awareness of this legislation and led to massive confusion among both public and private sector employers. On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, three attorneys from Dykema’s Labor & Employment practice—John Entenman, Marty Galvin and Gary Gordon—will provide a comprehensive examination of employer rights and obligations triggered by those laws, and separate fact from fiction.
Among the issues to be explored:
- How this legislation came to be
- When it takes effect
- How it impacts current collective bargaining agreements
- The potential legal challenges the Right to Work bill might still face
Most importantly, the presenters have set aside significant time for Q&A, so that all who attend leave with a clear understanding of the practical implications this sweeping new legislation will have on their respective workplaces.
