Matthew D. Shell, Bloomfield Hills-based attorney in Dykema’s Taxation & Estates practice group, has authored the Chronicle of Philanthropy article, “Why Charities Shouldn't Start Ignoring the Ban on Partisan Politicking.”

In his article, Shell explains why the May 4th, 2017, Executive Order, negating the Tax Code’s ban on nonprofits’ support or opposition of political candidates, would have limited impact on the status of 501(c)(3) organizations.
