Matthew D. Shell, Bloomfield Hills-based attorney in Dykema’s Taxation & Estates practice group, has authored the Chronicle of Philanthropy article, “Why Charities Shouldn't Start Ignoring the Ban on Partisan Politicking.”

In his article, Shell explains why the May 4^th, 2017, Executive Order, negating the Tax Code’s ban on nonprofits’ support or opposition of political candidates, would have limited impact on the status of 501(c)(3) organizations.
