Victor Johnson, Dallas-based Member in Dykema’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, authored the IP Watchdog article, “Judge Albright’s Latest Rules Ensure the WDTXs Place as the New Patent Rocket Docket.”
In the article, Johnson highlights that the Western District of Texas is the preferred venue for patent cases. Nationwide, 20 percent of new patent cases filed in 2020 were filed in the WDTX. Johnson described presiding Judge Alan Albright as smart, well-prepared, and lawyer-friendly. He also summarized the Judge’s September 2020 modification to his Order Governing Proceedings.
