"The Buzz On Electric Vehicle Safety"

Cars have changed. Electric propulsion is here, and here to stay. The North American International Auto Show recently wrapped up in Detroit, and the buzz was electric. More than a dozen of the 40-plus vehicles that debuted at the show this year were some variation of electric vehicle, whether hybrid electric, plug-in hybrid electric or all-electric.

That’s generally good news for the automotive industry, the global economy, and the environment. If you believe some of the recent media coverage of crash risks in electric vehicles, however, you would conclude that the news is bad for automotive product liability risk managers.
