It can be difficult, if not impossible, to decouple real estate issues from those implicating environmental concerns.

With extensive experience and deep insights into both areas of the law, Todd Schebor is uniquely positioned to deliver comprehensive counsel for clients who must address such intersecting matters, whether in the context of transactions, disputes, or enforcement actions.

Todd's immersion into environmental law and related issues predates his legal career. Accordingly, he focused on developing a combination of legal and scientific knowledge that now serves his clients so well. Those clients are in the energy, waste disposal, petroleum, manufacturing, and other sectors that must deal with the unique challenges of ever-changing regulatory requirements and law.

A seasoned litigator, Todd defends his clients' interests in civil proceedings or regulatory actions, including those involving cleanups (CERCLA, RCRA, and Michigan's Part 201 and 213 programs), underground storage tanks, waste management, water discharge, wetlands, eminent domain, land use, and restrictive covenant matters. His ability to quickly parse the issues and dispose of irrelevant distractions facilitates efficient resolutions that minimize costs and disruptions for his clients.

Having worked on the regulatory side of environmental issues, Todd has an innate sense of how regulators think and what matters to them, allowing him to craft approaches best suited to achieving positive outcomes.

He stays ahead of a constantly shifting environmental law landscape to counsel his clients to anticipate and account for changes in the law or regulatory priorities.

Responsive and easy to work with, Todd is an invaluable resource for clients who need practical, reliable guidance on all environmental and real estate issues.

Environmental issues can quickly derail my clients' operations, transactions, or business objectives. I strive to understand my clients’ business and their goals and objectives, so that I can provide them with practical advice based on existing and anticipated legal requirements, and actual regulatory practice.
