Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Jacobus “Jake” Vollebregt as Senior Counsel in the firm’s Corporate Finance and Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Groups, resident in the firm’s San Antonio office. He joins Dykema from Quadrant Law Group, LLP, where he was a Partner advising clients on complex commercial transactions, data privacy and cybersecurity matters, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.
Vollebregt counsels clients across a wide range of industries, including finance, technology, real estate, education, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. His practice combines sophisticated corporate and technology transactions with data privacy, cybersecurity, enterprise information security, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance matters. He regularly advises organizations on negotiating and structuring complex commercial agreements, implementing compliance and data protection programs, managing enterprise risk, and navigating evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Vollebregt brings extensive experience counseling banks, financial institutions, technology companies, and other organizations on privacy, cybersecurity, and information governance matters. He advises clients on data protection, cyber resilience, incident response, cross-border data transfers, and regulatory compliance, and has significant experience helping organizations address emerging issues involving artificial intelligence governance, enterprise information security, and technology-driven business initiatives. His integrated approach to corporate transactions and information governance enables clients to address legal, regulatory, operational, and cybersecurity considerations within a single strategic framework.
Earlier in his career, Vollebregt served as a judge advocate and intelligence officer in the United States Marine Corps, where he advised military leaders on a wide range of legal and operational matters and developed experience managing complex issues involving information security, compliance, investigations, and risk assessment.
Vollebregt’s experience spans both public and private sectors and includes advising clients on government contracting, regulatory compliance, real estate and development matters, investigations, litigation management, taxation, and corporate governance, providing him with a broad perspective on the legal, operational, and business challenges organizations face.
He currently serves as a board member of the FBI InfraGard San Antonio Members Alliance and is a member of the Cybersecurity Council for the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

Vollebregt earned his J.D. with a Certificate in Taxation from Chapman University Fowler School of Law. He also earned an M.S. in Strategic Intelligence from National Intelligence University and a B.A. from Gonzaga University.
