Jennifer Cruz Selected for National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges Next Generation Program

Dykema is proud to announce that Jennifer D. Cruz, a senior attorney in the firm’s Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice group, has been selected to participate in the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ (NCBJ) annual Next Generation (“NextGen”) Program.

The NCBJ NextGen Program recognizes bankruptcy professionals with 10 or fewer years in practice whose work centers on bankruptcy law and who demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of civility, ethics, and professionalism. Participants also demonstrate a commitment to the educational development of bankruptcy professionals and to professional activities that benefit the public, the bankruptcy bar, and the court system.

Based in Dykema’s Houston office, Cruz advises national and regional banks, financial institutions, and commercial lenders in complex consumer and commercial bankruptcy matters. She represents clients in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 proceedings, restructurings, debtor-creditor disputes, bankruptcy litigation, loan workouts, and related matters, helping clients protect assets, enforce creditor rights, mitigate risk, and maximize recovery.

Cruz was named a Blackshear Presidential Fellow by the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges in 2021 and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® Ones to Watch for Commercial Litigation and Litigation – Banking and Finance for 2026 and 2027.
