Jill Wheaton Elected Chair, Mark Magyar Elected to Executive Board of the American Bar Association's Council of Appellate Lawyers
Dykema, a leading national law firm, is proud to announce that at the recent American Bar Association’s Appellate Judges Education Institute, Jill Wheaton and Mark Magyar were each elected to serve in leadership positions for the American Bar Association's (ABA) Council of Appellate Lawyers (CAL). Its members come from across the country and include attorneys in private practice, governmental attorneys, military attorneys, and in-house counsel.
Wheaton serves as the co-leader of Dykema’s Appellate and Critical Motions team and is known nationally for her work in the field of appellate law. She is a frequent writer and speaker on appellate issues. Wheaton has also served on appellate sections and committees for several professional legal industry organizations, including the Defense Research Institute, Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society, Michigan Appellate Bench-Bar, and State Bar of Michigan.
Wheaton earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan.
Magyar is a member of Dykema’s Business Litigation practice group and its Appellate and Critical Motions team. In 2023, Magyar was reelected to the Council of the Michigan State Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Section, on which Magyar has served since 2016.
