Lance Boldrey, Leader of Dykema’s Cannabis Law Practice and Co-Leader of the Firm’s Gaming & Indian Law group, was named one of Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2020 “Leaders in the Law.” A luncheon celebrating the honorees will be held on April 9, 2020, at the Detroit Marriott in Troy, where the 2020 “Lawyer of the Year” will be announced.

According to Michigan Lawyers Weekly, those honored have made outstanding contributions to the practice of law in Michigan, set an example for other lawyers, demonstrate tremendous leadership and offer a wealth of experience in many areas of the law.

Boldrey, Lansing-based member in Dykema’s Government Policy and Practice group, has been at the forefront of the development of a licensed and regulated cannabis industry in the State of Michigan. In his practice, he represents a wide range of industry participants, from small retail establishments to large vertically integrated players, to lenders and investors. Boldrey specializes in licensing, regulatory matters, and legislative issues, and quarterbacks Dykema's representation on real estate, corporate and M&A work, and other aspects of serving the needs of this rapidly changing industry.

Boldrey’s practice also encompasses Indian law, with an emphasis on gaming, economic development, and state-tribal relations. He represents tribes, developers, banks and other non-tribal businesses, as well as state and local governments, and is a frequent speaker on Indian law topics.
