Matthew Maupin Receives 2025 Baylor University Outstanding Young Alumni Award

Dykema is pleased to announce that Matthew Maupin received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Baylor University. Maupin was honored during the 61st Annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony hosted by The Baylor Line on February 28, 2026, at The Baylor Club in Waco, Texas.

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes Baylor graduates under the age of 40 who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement and made a meaningful impact early in their careers. Past honorees include distinguished leaders in law, medicine, and public service.

Maupin was recognized in part for his leadership and volunteer efforts in the aftermath of devastating flooding in Kerrville, Texas, following the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry in July 2025. After learning of the destruction affecting his hometown, Maupin joined hundreds of volunteers assisting with rescue and recovery efforts, helping clear debris and reopen access routes for emergency response and relief organizations. His work and commitment to the community were recently highlighted in a feature by The Baylor Line, “After the Storm,” which details the volunteer response and Maupin’s role in the recovery effort.

At Dykema, Maupin focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, representing clients across a range of industries in high-stakes business disputes. He works closely with clients to understand the operational and strategic context of their matters and advocates for them through all phases of litigation, from pre-suit negotiations through trial.

Maupin earned his J.D. from the Baylor University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. While at Baylor Law.
