On June 19, 2014, Laura C. Baucus, Bloomfield Hills-based member in the Firm’s Litigation Department whose practice focuses on consumer financial services litigation and complex commercial litigation, will be one of 70 Detroit-area executives to graduate from Leadership Detroit Class XXXV. The commencement ceremony will take place at The Garden Theatre in downtown Detroit.

This initiative, celebrating its 35th year, is run under the auspices of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce. This nine-month program grooms participants for a lifelong commitment to leadership by delving into the key issues that affect Detroit and challenging them to bring about positive change. Participants in the program—nominated by their various organizations—come from a  wide range of backgrounds:  business, organized labor, government, education, health services, community and civic associations.

The curriculum immerses participants in a rigorous examination and open discussion of topics/themes central to the success of the Southeast Michigan community. Among them: economic prosperity, race and diversity, educational preparedness, arts and culture, and health and human services.

Upon her graduation from this year’s Leadership Detroit program, Baucus joins a host of other Dykema lawyers who are Leadership Detroit alumni and have gone on to assume important leadership responsibilities within the Firm and the legal community. Among them:
