Paul M. Laurenza, Office Managing Member of Dykema’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the Firm’s Automotive Industry Group, will participate in a panel discussion at the Connected Vehicles and Apps Forum at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. This annual conference—the largest of its kind—brings together more than 60,000 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), aftermarket manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, retailers, dealers and the media. The 2013 SEMA Show will take place in Las Vegas, from November 5 to 8, 2013.

On Thursday, November 7 from 1 pm till 3 pm, Laurenza and his fellow panelists—representing the OEM, supplier and service-provider sectors—will discuss how new consumer electronics products and connected-vehicle technologies may impact the automotive aftermarket. Laurenza, who in addition to his Dykema responsibilities serves as Vice Chairman of the Connected Vehicle Trade Association (CVTA), will also discuss some of the legal ramifications—including regulatory and product liability considerations—related to use of these new technologies.
