Chicago-based attorneys Richard M. Bendix, Jr., a member of Dykema’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Group, and Gary P. Segal, a member of the firm’s Corporate Finance Practice Group, have co-authored a chapter in the Thomson Reuters book, Strategic Alternatives For And Against Distressed Businesses, 2016 ed.

Bendix and Segal’s chapter, titled “Perspectives: Secured Creditors,” explores distressed businesses from a secured creditor’s perspective and covers the following areas in depth: 

  • signs of a distressed borrower;
  • due diligence—analyzing the borrower’s problems and financial situation;
