Rob Boonin Discusses Overtime Classification Planning with SHRM

Robert A. Boonin, Detroit and Ann Arbor–based member in Dykema’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, and former chair of the Wage and Hour Defense Institute, was quoted in the Society for Human Resource Management article, “What’s Next for the Federal Overtime Rule?”

In his comments, Boonin speculates that employers may want to reclassify their employee designation in accordance with the final regulations, and notes that the Department of Labor solicited feedback in an RFI in preparation for future rule modifications to exempt and non-exempt salary levels.
