Robert Boonin Quoted in SHRM Story about Overtime Rules Challenges

Robert Boonin, Detroit and Ann Arbor-based member in Dykema’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, was quoted at length in the Society for Human Resource Management article, “Court’s Decision on Overtime Rule Expected Soon.”

The article reports that state and business group lawsuits challenging the Department of Labor’s new overtime classifications have been consolidated, and that a ruling is expected late November. Boonin discusses the various legal arguments which might be brought forward; but because the outcome is unpredictable, he urges employers to be fully prepared to convert affected positions from salaried to hourly by December 1st.
