Dykema’s Securities Practice Group is co-sponsoring, with KPMG Corporate Finance, a series of three breakfast seminars that will provide insight into new SEC rules that permit the use of general solicitation and advertising in private capital raising efforts. The SEC rules are part of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (JOBS Act) signed into law in April 2012.

The seminars—themed “Advertise Your Private Capital Raise: JOBS Act Update”—will take place in Southeast Michigan (Southfield), Minneapolis and Chicago—on October 15, 16 and 17, respectively. The seminars are aimed at senior executives in public companies, private equity and hedge funds, and other investment groups that may be considering raising capital.

Each 90-minute seminar will be led by Robert B. Murphy, a Washington, D.C.-based attorney in the Dykema Securities group, and Mike Rudolph, a Chicago-based director at KPMG Corporate Finance LLC. Locally-based members of Dykema's Securities and Corporate practices will serve as co-presenters: D. Richard McDonald and Mark A. Metz in Southfield; Joseph D. Roach and Erik B. Levy in Minneapolis; Jeffrey M. Dalebroux and Gregory M. Wright in Chicago.
