Dykema to Serve as a Participating Law Firm for Detroit Small Business Legal Academy

Dykema, a leading national law firm, is part of a collaboration of leading law firms and legal departments conducting a free Small Business Legal Academy for Detroit (SBLA Detroit) entrepreneurs and start-up businesses. Bob Duty, Bloomfield Hills-based member in Dykema’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, and Laura Weingartner, Detroit-based member in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, will serve as faculty members for SBLA Detroit, which is part of the 2015 Detroit Entrepreneur Week.

SBLA Detroit will consist of a series of panels providing legal information necessary for new business owners and entrepreneurs to grow their business. Panelists and faculty will cover legal issues from a variety of areas, such as real estate, intellectual property, employment, food business, advertising, marketing issues, funding and social entrepreneurial and nonprofit undertakings. Participants will have the opportunity to meeting and learn from some of Detroit’s leading legal professionals. It should be noted that panelists will not provide legal representation, but will provide direction and general information relevant to early stage businesses and entrepreneurs.
