Jason T. Hanselman, Lansing-based member in Dykema’s Government Policy & Practice group, was quoted in the Detroit News story, “Prevailing Wage Group Tries to Avoid Signature Scrutiny.”

The story reports on the contretemps facing the Protecting Michigan Taxpayers committee in its latest effort to repeal Michigan’s Prevailing Wage law, which, since 1965, has required trade union-level remuneration for any construction workers employed in taxpayer-funded projects. Hanselman comments at length on the issues regarding the Committee’s repeal petition, whose sample of signatories did not quite reach the validity level required by the Bureau of Elections.
