Khalil and Hickey Set to Present at Mortgage Bankers Association Legal Issues & Regulatory Compliance Conference

Elizabeth Khalil, Chicago-based member in Dykema’s Government Policy Practice Group, and Joe Hickey, Bloomfield Hills-based member in the firm's Financial Services Litigation Practice Group, will each serve as featured speakers at the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) Legal Issues & Regulatory Compliance Conference set to take place in Los Angeles from April 29- May 2.

Khalil will serve as a co-speaker for the presentation, "CMCP Track: HMDA Compliance Basics," which will cover the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), its history, and purpose in improving access to housing and credit. The presentation will also discuss the specific loan data collected and reported in compliance with the rule, as well as specific requirements of reporting. Khalil and her co-panelists will also explain enforcement and provide tips and resources to help lenders comply.

Hickey will partake as a co-speaker for the presentation titled, "Regtech Fintech Track: Update on eNotes and eMortgages," which will provide an update on compliance and legal issues around the use of eNotes and eMortgages. Hickey and his co-panelists will discuss how these technologies and processes are being used most effectively and cover where the biggest opportunities and challenges lie.
