Paul M. Laurenza, a member of Dykema’s Government Policy Practice Group and Managing Member for the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, has written a cautionary essay for Automotive World titled “The Myth of the Collision-Free Automobile.”

In his article, Laurenza elaborates upon NTSB Chairman Christopher Hart’s warnings that there are too many unpredictable elements of failure, such as  weather, traffic, bad road conditions, and operator ability, for all car crashes to be prevented by state-of-the art automotive technology.
