Rochelle E. Lento Named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2018 Class of “Women in the Law”

Rochelle E. Lento, Detroit-based member in Dykema’s Real Estate practice group, was named one of 30 “Women in the Law” for 2018 by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. A luncheon celebrating the honorees will be held September 20, 2018, at the Detroit Marriott Troy.

Lento’s practice focuses on affordable housing development and economic development representing developers in transactions involving Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Federal and State Historic Tax Credits, federal HOME and other HUD Financing Tools, and New Market Tax Credits; and general real estate. She leads Dykema’s Women’s Business Initiative in Michigan and also serves on Dykema’s Diversity & Inclusion Board.

For more than 20 years, Lento has been an active member in the American Bar Association’s Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law, serving the organization in various leadership roles. She began as Editor of its journal before becoming a member of its governing board for a number of years, and eventually, becoming Chair of the Forum. She then assumed leadership of the Forum’s Publication branch and has upheld that role for the past decade.

Lento is also extremely active in her community. She has not only served as a member and held leadership roles in her Palmer Woods neighborhood association, but she also helped to co-found The People for Palmer Park, an organization responsible for saving and revitalizing Detroit’s historic 300-acre Palmer Park. In addition, she also served on the Board for Alternatives for Girls.
