Jack Schaedel, Los Angeles-based member in Dykema’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, was quoted in the Law360 article, “9th Circ. Ruling May Stall Uber Driver Classification Suits.”  The article reported  the Court’s opinion that Uber’s arbitration agreements were enforceable, thus denying federal class-action status to former drivers who sue the ride-sharing-app company.

Schaedel stated that the decision was very fortunate for the taxicab-alternative company, but he also surmised that Uber might regret the ruling once it faced the bills for thousands of separate arbitrations.
