The September 10, 2013 online edition of Inside Counsel includes an article that highlights Dykema’s upcoming conference on cybersecurity—“To Protect and Defend: Why Cybersecurity Matters and What You Can Do to Guard Against Unwanted Intruders”—that will be presented, in conjunction with Major, Lindsey & Africa (a leading national legal recruitment firm), in Detroit on September 12.

Sherrie Farrell, Office Managing Member of Dykema’s Detroit Office and chair of the Firm’s Diversity Committee, will serve as host for this event, introducing panelists who include general counsel from Trustwave, Motorola Solutions and Bridgewater Interiors, as well as the Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office (Eastern District of Michigan).

As part of the event, Dykema will distribute its white paper, “Cybersecurity in the Private Sector: The Evolving Role of General Counsel," co-authored by Dykema attorney, Susan Asam. This document identifies the key cybersecurity issues that businesses and their inside counsel are beginning to confront, and provides practical advice to assist in identifying, assessing and responding to cybersecurity risks and attacks.
