Arlene Switzer Steinfield, Dallas-based senior counsel in Dykema’s Labor and Employment Practice and Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, organized the College’s 5th Circuit Regional Program. Steinfield, who is the Reginal Activity Coordinator for the College’s 5th Circuit, came up with the idea for the program and pushed it forward to fruition with two co-chairs,  Armin Moeller and Clyde Jacob, which she appointed.

The event, which took place on March 19-20 in New Orleans, consisted of four panels, as well as a wine and cheese reception. The first panel featured three federal judges from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana who engaged in a lively discussion on civility and professionalism in litigation, which Steinfield also moderated. The second panel focused on the Impact of Quick Election Rules. There were also two roundtables covered logistics of ADA accommodations and the new federal rules on discovery.
