Arlene Switzer Steinfield Quoted in SHRM Story of PA Ruling on Sexual-Orientation Discrimination

Arlene Switzer Steinfield, Dallas-based senior counsel in Dykema’s Labor and Employment Practice, was quoted in the SHRM article, “Pennsylvania Ruling Supports Federal Position Against Sexual-Orientation Discrimination.”

The article reports on a Pittsburgh judge’s decision upholding the EEOC’s position that both gender and sexual orientation are protected from discrimination by Civil Rights laws. Steinfield explains that because the ruling came out of a federal district court, it carries more weight than a state ruling would, even though it is not binding on other federal courts.
