Arlene Switzer Steinfield, Dallas-based senior counsel in Dykema’s Labor and Employment Practice, was quoted in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) article, “EEOC Sexual Orientation Lawsuits Suggest Need for Training.”

The article covers recent Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) lawsuits that are the first to allege that sexual orientation discrimination violates Title VII. Steinfield points out that employers have to properly train employees to be respectful in this area and to tell employees to check their personal views at the door and not act on them in the workplace.
