John (Jack) P. Schaedel, Los Angeles-based member in Dykema’s Labor & Employment practice group, was quoted at in the USA Today article, “Roger Ailes' death complicates sexual harassment cases against him.”

In his comments, Schaedel explains that the death of former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes could affect both the defense and the plaintiffs in pending sexual harassment cases. He highlights that anything Ailes purportedly said before his death would be less likely to be allowed into evidence, making it more difficult for plaintiff attorneys to introduce any alleged harassing comments. However, Ailes' absence also deprives attorneys for Fox the ability to have him in court denying plaintiff claims and providing explanatory context for decisions and statements by him and the company.
