Director of Dykema’s Regulated Industries Department, Len Wolfe, played an instrumental role in Michigan’s recent university charter cap lift. SB 618, which was signed into law by Governor Snyder on December 20, 2011, phases out the cap on university authorized charters over the next three years, and eliminating the cap as of January 1, 2015. The law also calls for a number of other measures including the elimination of the single-site restriction for schools with proven track records, the allowance of priority enrollment for children of charter school employees and board members, and tax exemptions on school related property.

Wolfe was present at SB 618’s signing, which was featured in Central Michigan University’s The Center For Charter Schools monthly publication, eNews & Information.
