Fifty-Three Cox Smith Attorneys Named 2014 Best Lawyers in America

August 22, 2013

Cox Smith, the largest Texas law firm headquartered in San Antonio, today announced that 53 of its attorneys were selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2014, including lawyers from each of the firm’s five Texas offices. (Copyright 2013 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, SC). In addition, four of the firm’s attorneys were named Best Lawyers® 2014 "Lawyer of the Year” in San Antonio for their respective practice areas.

Cox Smith’s 2014 Lawyers of the Year include: Ray Bissmeyer, Litigation - Labor & Employment; David Roth, Natural Resources Law; Jamie Smith, Corporate Law; and David West, Litigation - Banking & Finance. Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers® has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which almost 50,000 leading attorneys cast nearly five million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor.

“Being recognized by their peers for the work they do on behalf of our clients is significant and certainly well-deserved,” said Jamie Smith, managing director of Cox Smith. “I am proud of all of our Best Lawyers for the outstanding client service they continually provide to their clients.”
