Andres (“Andy”) De La Cruz is an associate in Dykema’s Los Angeles office. He practices within the firm’s product liability and class action litigation practice group.

While in law school, Andy externed for Chief Judge Philip S. Gutierrez of the United States District Court for the Central District of California and Justice Sabrina S. McKenna of the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court. He was an oralist for the Southwestern Moot Court Honors Program, a member of the Southwestern Law Review, and participated in the Ninth Circuit Appellate Litigation Clinic. He also served as Co-President of the Latino Law Students Association and was a Senior Writing Fellow at the Southwestern Writing Center. Following law school, Andres completed a one-year clerkship with Chief Judge Michael P. Gibbons of the Nevada Court of Appeals.

Prior to joining Dykema as an associate, Andy defended Fortune 500 companies and insurance carriers in cases involving serious personal injury claims including wrongful death as well as matters involving product liability and premises liability claims.

Andy has experience taking and defending depositions and handling all aspects of discovery. He has drafted several motions for summary judgment/adjudication and drafted a motion to dismiss that was granted by a California district court.

Outside of work, Andy is often cheering on the Lakers, Dodgers, and UCLA sports teams. He enjoys golfing, cycling, collecting sneakers, and shopping for vintage clothing. He also seeks every opportunity to mentor aspiring attorneys and give back to his community through pro-bono and volunteer work.
