Her experience includes handling bankruptcy proceedings involving mortgage servicers and vehicle lenders, reviewing and defending mortgage contracts, preserving collateral, and pursuing cost-effective resolutions for clients. She has also tried cases before juries in Michigan state courts.

Cheryl brings an in-depth understanding of bankruptcy and default servicing operations to her practice.

Before joining Dykema, she supervised attorneys and staff responsible for default servicing matters for a mortgage servicing company. She has represented clients in bankruptcy proceedings and other creditors’ rights matters in federal courts throughout Michigan and Illinois.

Drawing on her experience in both litigation and mortgage servicing operations, Cheryl Cook understands the legal and business considerations financial services companies face when addressing bankruptcy, default servicing, loan workouts, and disputes involving secured debt.
