David Ter-Petrosyan

Associate


David Ter-Petrosyan is an associate attorney in Dykema’s Los Angeles office. He practices within the firm’s Business Litigation and Appellate and Critical Motions groups.  A former political consultant, David is no stranger to fast-paced and high-stakes decision making. 

David earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from California State University, Northridge. While in law school, he externed full-time during a semester for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He served as Alumni and Sponsorship Editor for the Pepperdine Law Review, Vol. 52, President of the Armenian Law Students Association, and Vice-President of the Federalist Society Chapter. David was a member of the winning team in the 51st Annual Vincent S. Dalsimer Moot Court Competition and was also awarded for writing the best brief of the competition.  During his first summer of law school, David was a research assistant, studying evidentiary hearing standards in federal habeas corpus cases.  Between his second and third years of law school, David served as a Dykema summer associate in the Los Angeles office.

As a political consultant, David elected members to the board of directors of a major statewide political party, lobbied the party’s support for various ballot measures and propositions, and supported candidates in local nonpartisan campaigns. David currently serves on the party’s Rules Committee, which is responsible for maintaining the party’s bylaws and reviewing proposed amendments.

David closely monitors the decisions handed down by the United States Supreme Court and is a contributing author to the firm’s monthly publication, Last Month at the Supreme Court®.
