Maura McNamara is an associate attorney in Dykema’s Dallas office who practices in the Bankruptcy Practice Group. She represents clients in bankruptcy and related commercial matters, bringing extensive familiarity with federal bankruptcy proceedings to her practice
Having worked closely with federal bankruptcy judges, Maura understands bankruptcy matters from a judicial perspective, including how courts analyze statutory questions, factual records, pleadings, oral arguments, and contested issues.
Her experience includes researching complex questions under the Bankruptcy Code and state law and drafting bench memoranda, judicial opinions, and orders addressing matters before federal bankruptcy courts. She has worked on contested matters, hearings, adversary proceedings, and other issues arising throughout bankruptcy cases, giving her practical familiarity with bankruptcy procedure and judicial decision-making. Maura has also analyzed title insurance contracts for owners and lenders and evaluated the financial ability of defaulted entities to repay loans, providing additional exposure to distressed businesses, credit relationships, and the commercial considerations that can arise in bankruptcy matters.
