Anda Tatoiu is an associate in the Business Litigation Group in Dykema's Chicago office. Ms. Tatoiu focuses her practice on commercial litigation matters.

Prior to joining Dykema, Ms. Tatoiu was an associate at Deutsch, Levy & Engel, Chartered. Ms. Tatoiu has valuable experience in a wide variety of commercial and business litigation matters, including creditor's rights, residential and commercial mortgage foreclosure, bankruptcy, business torts, insurance defense, and condemnation proceedings on behalf of the State of Illinois.

Ms. Tatoiu has also successfully litigated employment and discrimination disputes in various administrative forums, including the Illinois Department of Labor and the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

  • Weiss v. Fischl, Case No. 152446, Ill. App. Ct., Cook County, Ill. Ms. Tatoiu prevailed in the Illinois Appellate Court in her representation of a local dentist in a case relating to the dissolution of his former dental practice. The issues in the case included whether the dental practice and its remaining principal member were required to compensate Ms. Tatoiu's client for his stock in the corporation, and whether a covenant not to compete contained in a shareholder's agreement remained operative. Following an arbitration proceeding, Ms. Tatoiu's client prevailed on these and other issues. Ms. Tatoiu then petitioned the Circuit Court of Cook County to confirm the arbitration award, and prevailed. The respondents appealed to the Illinois Appellate Court, arguing that the arbitrator had exceeded the scope of his authority in issuing the award. The Court published a decision on August 5, 2016, affirming the lower court's decision, and ruling in favor of Ms. Tatoiu's client.
