Gary P. Segal, Chicago-based member of Dykema’s Corporate Finance Practice Group, has co-authored a chapter in the Thomson Reuters book, Strategic Alternatives For And Against Distressed Businesses, 2018 ed.
Segal’s chapter, titled "Perspectives: Secured Creditors," explores distressed businesses from a secured creditor’s perspective and covers the following areas in depth:
- signs of a distressed borrower;
- due diligence—analyzing the borrower’s problems and financial situation;
- financial consultants / turnaround professionals;
- analyzing the loan file and collateral;
- meeting with the borrower;
