Laura Worsinger Quoted in SHRM Review of California Sick-Leave Laws

Laura P. Worsinger, Los Angeles-based Senior Counsel in Dykema’s Labor & Employment practice, was quoted in the Society for Human Resource Management article, “Piecing Together California’s Local Sick-Leave Requirements.”

In the article, which explains how California employers must adhere to state and municipal sick-leave laws in company policies, Worsinger recommends discretion when inquiring about the medical purpose of any requested leave, and further warns that combining vacation and sick leave into personal time off has certain disadvantages.
