Dykema, a leading national law firm, proudly announces that Andrew “Andy” Buczek and Mary Beth McGowan were named 2026 “Top Lobbyists” by the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics (NILE).

NILE’s annual awards recognize 100 lobbying, PAC, and grassroots advocacy professionals for their achievements, leadership, and contributions to the profession. Selected through a blind peer-review process, this year’s honorees were chosen from more than 500 nominations based on their advocacy success, innovation, integrity, and commitment to their profession and communities.

“I cannot think of a better way to celebrate this milestone than by honoring 100 outstanding professionals who represent the integrity, dedication, and leadership that define the very best of our profession,” said Paul Miller, Chairman of the NILE Board of Directors, referring to the organization’s 10th anniversary.

With more than 20 years of experience, Buczek helps clients develop and advance federal legislative, regulatory, and political strategies. He works with nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, local governments, and private industry on issues including appropriations, tax, manufacturing, transportation, housing, and science and technology. Before joining Dykema, Buczek served as a senior legislative assistant to Congressman Jim Barcia, including as the congressman’s principal advisor on science and technology issues before the House Science Committee. He also serves on Dykema’s Political Action Committee Board.

McGowan helps corporations, trade associations, and local governments navigate Congress and the Executive Branch, develop legislative strategies, identify funding opportunities, and build relationships with key federal decision-makers. She began her career on Capitol Hill working for U.S. Senator Arlen Specter and has represented Dykema’s federal government relations clients since 2008. Her work spans clean air and water, tax and trade, supply chains, federal procurement policy, appropriations, and federal budgetary matters.
