Dykema, a leading national law firm, is proud to announce that Lance Boldrey, John Fraser, and Brett Gelbord were each selected for inclusion in the seventh edition of the “Global Top 200 Cannabis Lawyers” directory, published by Cannabis Law Report and Cannabis Law Journal for 2026–2027. Gelbord was also recognized in the fifth edition of the “Top 200 Global Psychedelic Lawyers and Policy & Regulatory Experts” guide for 2026.

The cannabis directory identifies leading practitioners and practices worldwide through an annual survey of clients and lawyers in the cannabis legal services sector, combined with editorial research informed by a decade of daily industry reporting. The psychedelics guide recognizes lawyers and policy and regulatory professionals working in the evolving psychedelics landscape.

Boldrey leads Dykema’s national multidisciplinary Cannabis team and advises publicly and privately held cannabis companies, independent retailers, and microbusinesses. His practice spans licensing, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate, regulatory compliance, government relations, and intellectual property matters, helping clients navigate conflicts between state and federal law.

As the Michigan Team Leader of Dykema’s Cannabis Practice, Fraser helps cannabis businesses secure and maintain state and local licenses, manage regulatory requirements, and address a broad range of business and legal issues. His experience includes negotiating cannabis brand licensing agreements and guiding clients through regulatory disputes and litigation. He previously served as Chairperson of the State Bar of Michigan’s Cannabis Law Section.

Gelbord combines experience in employment law and commercial litigation to counsel cannabis businesses on workforce matters and business disputes. His psychedelics work includes advising clients on proposed commercial activities under local decriminalization ordinances and counseling stakeholders on legislative advocacy. A founding member of the Psychedelic Bar Association, he works with attorneys nationwide to help shape policy and legislation in the emerging industry.
