Session 3: Complying with Privacy Laws

This program will provide an overview of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as re-enacted and amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), specifically focusing on the CCPA’s requirements for employers regarding personal information of their current and former employees, job applicants and independent contractors. The program will describe obligations and provide helpful best practices relating to individuals’ rights under the CCPA, an employers’ duty to provide privacy notices, and how to structure data processing contracts with HR vendors that touch personal information. The program will also provide insight on anticipated regulatory activity, future rulemaking by the new California enforcement authority and deployment of new technologies that process employee data.
