Jin-Kyu Koh, Detroit-based member who leads Dykema’s Corporate Finance Practice and the Firm’s Korean Business Team, is profiled in the June 2014 issue of Metropolitan Corporate Counsel, a monthly publication distributed to more than 30,000 top-tier executives (chief legal officers, general counsel) in the law departments of major U.S. companies.

In the article, Koh discusses the current M&A climate (which he describes as having “really picked up in the last few months”), the various factors that can influence M&A deals (among them:  a company’s intellectual property, which he notes can be—in some transactions—the most valuable aspect of a buyer’s interest in the deal) and the growing importance of legal project management in the M&A area.

Koh also sheds light on Dykema’s Korean Business Team, an initiative that—in just a little more than two years—has grown to include 25 Dykema lawyers (several of whom speak Korean) who represent between 25-30 Korean clients. Koh notes that, with the continuing influx of Korean companies entering the United States, the opportunities to expand the Firm’s presence in this area are “significant.”
