Elisa Lintemuth Quoted in Bloomberg Revelations of Glitch in New Tax Law

Elisa Lintemuth, Grand Rapids-based member in Dykema’s Labor & Employment practice group, provided the closing comments in the Bloomberg.com article, “Tax-Law Typo Risks Bankrupting #MeToo Victims Without GOP Fix.”

Under the Tax Act of 2017, both parties in a sexual harassment lawsuit lose the right to deduct legal expenses they incurred if the case goes to settlement. Lintemuth discusses the impact this will have on a company’s decision to either settle such cases with the plaintiff or proceed to trial.
