Jennifer Beidel is the national leader of Dykema’s Business Litigation practice. She is a trusted advisor and advocate for organizations and individuals facing internal investigations, corporate compliance challenges, and white collar criminal exposure. A former federal prosecutor with deep investigative and courtroom experience, she guides clients through high‑stakes scrutiny with strategic judgment, clear communication, and a focus on minimizing risk, disruption, and cost.

Jennifer represents clients across heavily regulated industries, including healthcare, life sciences, food and agriculture, cannabis, and financial services, in civil and criminal matters involving complex regulatory regimes. Chambers USA notes that she is “great on her feet, terrific with witnesses, efficient and organized…a smart and savvy lawyer who is highly experienced when it comes to the courtroom.” Jennifer’s white collar criminal defense work drew international acclaim after her decisive defense victory in United States v. Wang, a widely followed research‑fraud prosecution, for which she was named Am Law’s “Litigator of the Week” in October 2025.

Drawing on her extensive investigative background, Jennifer conducts thorough internal investigations that identify what happened, why it happened, and how to remediate vulnerabilities before they attract government attention. Her pro-active corporate compliance work helps clients understand their regulatory obligations and implement practical, tailored programs that align with operational realities.

When government investigators or prosecutors get involved, Jennifer brings significant trial and negotiation experience to bear. She has successfully handled federal and state jury trials, sentencings, plea and bail hearings, FINRA arbitrations, mediations, and multiple appeals before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, and Seventh Circuits. She is known for combining forceful advocacy with a pragmatic, problem‑solving approach that often resolves matters long before litigation becomes necessary.

As an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, Jennifer served in the Complex Frauds and Cybercrime Unit, leading investigations and prosecutions involving tax, healthcare, cybercrime, securities, consumer fraud, bribery, and money laundering. She worked closely with many federal and state law enforcement agencies including the FBI, SEC, IRS, DEA, DHS, DOL, Secret Service, Postal Inspection Service, and New York DFS, as well as international partners in the U.K., Germany, Belgium, Denmark, and the Dominican Republic.

Whether in investigations or prosecutions, I try to see everything through the eyes of a judge or jury, even though my ultimate goal is to prevent my clients from ever seeing a judge or jury in the first place.
