John Donovan is a government policy advisor in Dykema’s Chicago office, where he assists clients in navigating complex government processes across Illinois. With a strong passion for advocacy, he works tirelessly to help clients achieve their public policy and regulatory objectives.
John specializes in raising his clients' visibility and ensuring their voices are heard in shaping policies and regulations that impact their interests. By working closely with clients, he tailors strategic approaches to help them reach their goals effectively.
Before joining Dykema, John served as special assistant and counsel to Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart. In this role, he provided senior-level analysis and counsel on both administrative and governmental matters. He also advised the Sheriff on public policy and legislative affairs, negotiating and delivering high-level insights to support the office's priorities.
