Intellectual Property Technical Advisor


Ruiwei Wu offers deep experience built over years of hands-on inexperience in the field of intellectual property. With a multidisciplinary background in mechanical engineering and design, Ruiwei provides support in patent prosecution and patent litigation. Routinely she conducts IP due diligence, analyzes patentability, helps identify core IP assets, and monitors IP compliance, often in Chinese, her native language.

Before joining Dykema, Ruiwei worked as a patent examiner in the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). In this role, Ruiwei managed patent quality control and supervised patent landscape reports. Ruiwei also worked in the Technology Commercialization Office at the University of Utah, where she gained extensive experience assisting with the patenting of bio-mechanical innovations and related technology transfer. This experience enables her to facilitate collaboration between academia and industry.

Ruiwei’s fluency in Chinese, along with her international credentials, uniquely positions her to communicate and collaborate effortlessly on a global scale and to provide insightful guidance and customized strategies designed to meet the unique needs of Dykema’s clients in the ever-evolving world of intellectual property.
