 Dykema’s 2020 Employer Outlook: Analysis of Workplace Challenges and Response to the “New Normal”

After months of upheaval, many employers have brought some or all of their workforce back onsite, or have committed to remote work on a more permanent basis. Even for employers with robust COVID-19 preparedness plans and experience dealing with Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) leave, there are challenges ahead, including issues related to the start of the school year, employees and/or customers who refuse to comply with COVID-19 policies, potentially significant changes to the Department of Labor’s previously-issued guidance regarding the FFCRA, changing return-to-work guidance, and mandatory vaccination policies.
